Indefol is proud to announce the launch of a landmark 42 MW Green Hydrogen (GH₂) and Fuel Cell Initiative, marking a significant milestone in Vietnam's journey toward industrial decarbonization and sustainable energy development.
Developed in collaboration with GIZ, leading German financial and technology partners, AHK Vietnam, and Vietnamese-German University (VGU), the project demonstrates growing international confidence in Indefol's ability to deliver innovative clean energy solutions for Vietnam's manufacturing sector.
A Major Step Towards Industrial Decarbonization
The initiative goes beyond a financing milestone. It establishes a strategic platform for deploying large-scale green hydrogen infrastructure capable of supporting Vietnam's transition to a low-carbon economy.
For more than seven years, Indefol has partnered with global manufacturers and Taiwanese OEMs to implement renewable energy solutions across industrial facilities. Today, many of these factories already operate with 20–30% clean electricity through rooftop solar systems. The next phase aims to increase clean energy utilization to 70–90%, while also supplying clean heat and clean steam for industrial processes.
Building Vietnam's Green Hydrogen Ecosystem
At the heart of the project is an integrated renewable energy system designed to provide reliable, around-the-clock clean power.
Excess electricity generated from Indefol's existing rooftop solar portfolio, together with utility-scale wind and solar projects, will be converted into green hydrogen using Indefol's alkaline electrolyzer technology.
The hydrogen will be safely stored and later converted back into electricity using advanced fuel cell technology supplied by EKPO, enabling a stable 24/7 clean power supply for industrial manufacturing operations.
This integrated approach addresses one of renewable energy's biggest challenges—intermittency—while creating a practical pathway for factories seeking reliable, low-carbon energy.
Supporting Global Manufacturers in Vietnam
To ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and long-term reliability, Indefol is collaborating with internationally recognized technology partners to deliver an integrated green hydrogen solution. The project brings together expertise in renewable energy integration, alkaline electrolyzer technology, hydrogen storage systems, fuel cell power generation, and industrial energy management. By combining these world-class technologies into a single ecosystem, Indefol aims to demonstrate a scalable and commercially viable model for green hydrogen deployment that can support Vietnam's industrial decarbonization while serving as a blueprint for future projects across Southeast Asia.

Looking Ahead
As Vietnam accelerates its energy transition, green hydrogen is expected to become a key pillar of the country's future energy mix.
Through strategic partnerships with GIZ, German technology providers, financial institutions, and research organizations, Indefol is laying the foundation for a cleaner, more resilient industrial energy ecosystem.
This project represents not only an important achievement for Indefol but also a meaningful contribution to Vietnam's broader net-zero ambitions. Together with our partners, we look forward to delivering innovative hydrogen solutions that create lasting value for industry, communities, and the environment.
