Frequently Asked Questions
Indefol originally started with wind energy, but it lacked the potential to fully replace fossil fuels by 2030. Solar energy was the next step due to its huge potential and easier maintenance. However, it's unstable because of weather and daylight dependency. Hydrogen helps solve this by storing excess solar energy during peak hours and releasing it when production drops. It only emits water when burned, making it environmentally friendly.
Indefol uses water electrolysis—splitting water into Hydrogen and Oxygen using direct current (DC). While the concept is simple, scaling it for industrial use is a major achievement, making Indefol the first in Vietnam to commercially sell Hydrogen energy.
Hydrogen is cleaner than coal and fossil fuels, producing only water when burned, with no CO2 emissions. It has a higher energy density in terms of mass, up to 32000 kcal/kg compared to 12500 kcal/kg of natural gases. While coal and fossil fuels are more energy-dense by volume and widely available, they contribute significantly to pollution and climate change.
At Indefol, we harness the power of the sun to produce DC power and then use it to produce Hydrogen from tap water, or even sea water. Thus the production process is clean and green from start to finish.
Hydrogen, like any other fuels, can be dangerous due to its flammability and ability to form explosive mixtures with air. It is odorless and leaks easily because of its small molecules. However, with proper storage, handling, and safety measures, these risks can be mitigated effectively to gain even greater benefits from hydrogen.
The cost of heat and steam produced using Green Hydrogen is calculated based on an increase or decrease in discount compared to when using the partner's existing fuel. Depending on the partner's consumption rate, Indefol will have an appropriate discount but will still commit to ensuring cost benefits when using Green Hydrogen energy.
Heat and steam are measured in kJ or kcal or tons of steam through flow meters that are very popular on the market. Usually with large capacities, we will install two meters in series to compare the index, or the partner can negotiate so that both parties can come up with another measurement method.
