GOLD LONG JOHN

Gold Long John is the Tier 1 OEM of Nike. Seeing a same vision as their customers in reducing human's footprint on the planet, Gold Long John put their feet into the "Greening The Planet" campaign by investing in renewables energy to replace traditional electricity step by step. In Feb 2020, facilitated and assisted by Nike Suistainability Team, Gold Long John officially became the pioneer of the "Nike Vietnam Solar PV Program" by signing to deploy 1Mwp solar system in phase 1. This project is designed and built, using the world standards components such as ABB (Fimer) inverters, mounting structures from Schletter (Germany) and Tier-1 solar PV modules.

 

The quality assurance work is also supported by RINA, from their regional office in Singapore to benchmark the portfolio with international best practices. In Nov 2020, Gold Long John continued to scale up the impact by deploying phase 2 of solar project. In phase 2, Gold Long John made a greatly new approach towards how they increase renewable usage throughout the operation and supply chain by adding battery storage for next 5Mwp system on their rooftop. As a result, onsite solar PV project can typically cover approximately 40% of electricity demand for the manufacturer.
